The new Call for Proposals of the Universal Civil Service has been published, allowing you to participate, among the different programmes, in the project 'Learning by cooperating: peace education and the culture of volunteering'. If you are between 18 and 28 years old, find out in this article what we can do together! You have until 15 February to submit your application.

The project 'Learning by cooperating: peace education and the culture of volunteering' focuses on peaceeducation and human rights, the cultural, landscape and environmental promotion of sustainable and solidarity-based tourism, as well as sport as a means of bringing people together and getting to know each other. The duration of the project is 12 months, the available places are 7 (all without board and lodging) divided between Rome (1), Pisa (4), Monza (2). The specific objective of the project is to disseminate peace education in order to combat discrimination and promote the culture of voluntary work as a tool for building a society of solidarity from a civil, cultural and social point of view, working to reduce inequalities and combat climate change.

Specifically, the 7 volunteer operators will dedicate themselves to building:

• • Twinning between Italian and foreign schools. All the volunteers will be in charge of making contacts with schools in Italy and abroad to build twinnings and carry out cultural exchanges.
  • Sports Workshops. The volunteers from the Monza branch of Un Ponte Per will participate together with partner associations in running rugby and "Ability no limits" workshops.
  • Peace Workshops. All volunteers will be involved in organising extracurricular workshops on peace building and peace keeping.
  • University Debates. All volunteers will organise debates, make contacts with universities and network associations, committees, collectives.
  • Communication and awareness-raising campaigns. All the volunteers will be engaged at least in the implementation of a communication and awareness-raising campaign. In particular, the volunteers from the Rome office of Un Ponte Per will be particularly involved.
  • Teaching Italian language to adult migrants. The volunteers of "El Comedor Estudiantil Giordano Liva" will be involved in this action.
  • Promotion of volunteer culture. All the volunteers will be involved in the organisation of events promoting volunteering in their territories. In particular the volunteers of the Pisa offices will be involved in the organisation of the festival "Solidarista", dedicated to the world of associations.
  • Support for international cooperation and peacebuilding projects. All volunteers will be involved in supporting international cooperation projects of host organisations.
  • Constant dialogue and exchange with associations involved in peace education and the local area. All volunteers will be involved.

VENUES, PLACES AVAILABLE, SERVICES OFFERED

Seven places are available , all without board and lodging, distributed as follows in the various locations:

Monza (Un Ponte Per) - via Antonio Rosmini 75(2 places)

The 25 hours of service will be spread over 5 days a week. A knowledge of a foreign language between English, French and Spanish level B2 is a prerequisite. For many activities there are exchanges and interactions with the foreign projects of Un Ponte Per in the Middle East and El Comedor Giordano Liva in Asia and Latin America.
