DOVE OPERIAMO

Jordan

Un Ponte Per has been present in Jordan since 2005, where it works to support the large refugee population fleeing wars and conflicts throughout the region, particularly Iraq and Syria. The aim of the intervention is to ensure access to rights such as mental health, protection, training and legal protection for vulnerable groups, including minors at risk, women survivors of gender-based violence and people with disabilities. By collaborating with a network of local organisations engaged in work to protect women and children, to include discriminated communities and to ensure access to fundamental rights for all, UPP has structured an intervention that combines protection with vocational training and employment inclusion work for vulnerable people. All the interventions in the country have been developed with a view to helping complement and strengthen the work of local associations already specialised in providing these services, which do fundamental work of inclusion and social cohesion between the host and refugee communities, but which often receive little international support. The intervention is supported by operatorsə of the Civil Peace Corps in Jordan.

FURAS 2 (OPPORTUNITIES)

The youth population in Jordan, despite high levels of vocational training, suffers from a high unemployment rate. Building resilience, through access to the labour market, has become crucial in order to try to bridge the gap between youth preparation and labour supply: this is why it is necessary to intervene with specific training courses that […]
