The Rome Local Committee brings together a group of activists who, together with the staff of the national headquarters, energize activities across the Rome area. Active since the 1990s, it has seen several generations of people engaged in peacebuilding, the defense of human and environmental rights, and mobilizations against wars.
In recent years, its activities have focused on issues of colonialism and decoloniality, including screenings of the film “The Lion of the Desert,” the organization of seminars, and the Arene Decoloniali festival.
It also organizes in-depth meetings on the countries where the organization operates, as well as fundraising events in support of the campaigns promoted by UPP.
