DOVE OPERIAMO

Ukraine

Un Ponte Per has been working in Ukraine since 2022, following the Russian invasion of the country in February of that year. While the international community invested in humanitarian aid and military support, UPP chose the path of dialogue with civil societies to support the efforts of the Ukrainian activistə to protect social cohesion and overcome the trauma experienced. The intervention was initiated through participation in the 'Stop the War Now' coalition caravans, with which UPP reached Lviv and Kiev with truckloads of humanitarian aid, then met with civil society actors committed to peacebuilding and non-violent resistance. This led to a commitment to support Ukrainian, Russian and Belorussian conscientious objectorsə through advocacy campaigns and fundraising to ensure their capacity for protection and action. In Ukraine today we provide spaces for dialogue and psychosocial support for the development of safer communities, promoting access to education, mental health services and life-saving information on the risks of explosive devices. We also work in Romania in the inclusion of refugees from Ukraine, facilitating access to employment, housing, healthcare and education.

YOUTH SOLIDARITY UKRAINE

The economy of Ukraine in the immediate future will be focused on the response to the military invasion. Fifty per cent of the national budget will be invested in military spending. Consequently, investments in the educational, social and youth sectors will be reduced. Civil societies and local organisations need support and the creation of links […]

PEACE SUPPORT UKRAINE

The 'Peace Support Ukraine' project, supported by the Italian Buddhist Institute Soka Gakkai (IBISG) and implemented with our Romanian partner PATRIR, was set up with the aim of fostering the resilience of Ukrainian civil society and supporting the action of local youth in non-violent resistance and peace-building, bringing their voice to local and international institutions. […]

CIVIL PEACE CORPS ABROAD

The establishment of the Civil Peace Corps was an absolute novelty on the European and global scene. Envisaged by the Italian Stability Law of December 2013 thanks to an amendment tabled by Giulio Marcon (SeL) and the work carried out by networks, NGOs and associations as part of the broader campaign "Another Defence is possible!" […]
