Farah – Child Sponsorship Project

As part of our Sponsorship Programme for children in war zones and areas recovering from war, active in Lebanon, Serbia and Kosovo, we have launched “Farah” (Joy) to assist children in Iraq, who have known decades of conflict and continuous humanitarian crises.

In Iraq, there are around 3 million malnourished children without access to adequate healthcare. Cases of cancers such as leukaemia have increased exponentially due to the use of chemical weapons, another tragic consequence of war.

Years of conflict and sanctions have had a dramatic impact on childhood and children’s rights. Thanks to the support of many Italian families, we can guarantee regular treatment to chronically sick children from Iraqi and minority communities, in collaboration with our local partner Yaum al-Hurriyya.
